A Cinderella Story

It is finally starting to cool down around here. Fall is in the air, and there is not a single chance you'll catch me outside without wearing one of my beloved, oversized hoodies.

Charlotte and Matt slept in this morning. A cool, crisp 45 degrees outside - and Charlotte lays in our comfy, warm bed with a full belly and down blanket to keep her warm.

"Look at her," Matt says. "Last year, at this time, she was probably cold and starving. Looking for some sort of food and any type of shelter to keep her warm."

We both stare at her sleeping in peace, snoring like a freight train.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Rescuing Charlotte - giving her this life - is by far one of the things I am most proud of.

No other accomplishment (if that's what you call it): job, home, salary, school, etc. has made me smile more, or felt like I truly made a difference. Looking at her, her happiness, feelings of warmth, security, and love - that's the biggest difference and best accomplishment of all.

From Rags to Riches

Her name suits her well. Just like Princess Charlotte of Cambridge

Except our little one is ummm.... Princess Charlotte of Edgerton??

She is indeed a princess.

Now, no one tell Lulu.
