Besides the fact that I was horribly sick on Easter Sunday, we had an amazing holiday. For the first time ever, we spent our entire day with ONE side of the family. For the past four years, we had been splitting our day between the Smiths and the Fennels -- driving all over God's creation, leaving early, arriving late, and never making either side happy.
Matt and I decided early this year that we would alternate holidays with the different sides so that the year we spent Easter with the Fennels, we would celebrate Thanksgiving with the Smiths and so on. Christmas, of course, would be spent with both. It was tough getting into this habit because we, of course, had to pick which family got to go first. Last Easter, we didn't see the Fennels at all because we celebrated my friend's engagement at her Mom's house, so we figured it'd be nice to celebrate with them this year.
The night before Easter, I came home with a special surprise for Matt! I decided to start a new tradition and make an Easter basket for him. He was so excited when he saw what I made and hopefully next year, the Easter bunny will visit me, too.... Fingers crossed
We drove to Edgerton the next morning to Aunt Vicki and Uncle Stan's house. I decided to document our short thirty minutes drive.
Happy Easter to you, too, Matt! He's such a loving husband.
We're here!!
We had a great time visiting with our family and spending time with our newphew, Zander!
Another FUN thing that we did on Easter was take jello shots!!! But these weren't just normal jello shots... no no no... They were AWESOME Easter style jello shots.
This one was a layered jello shot with Three Olives Loopy vodka and Baileys. For those of you who haven't tried Three Olives Loopy -- its basically Fruit Loops in a bottle. Mix it with Baileys and it tastes like a bowl of cereal. YUM!!!!!!!!
We love Jello Shots!
Hi Seeeeeessster!!!
After the day was over, we drove home and spent time with our crazy cat family.
I hope everyone had as great of an Easter an we did.
I really missed my side of the family on Sunday and cannot wait to see my nieces, nephews, parents, brother-in-law, and sister again. Thanksgiving will be great. We also received a super adorable card from everyone saying how much we were missed on Easter.
Its the little things in life.....
