Halloween - Part 2

Whelp - October, Halloween, and my bottle of wine are coming to an end. This year, I paired our candy with wine using this chart. I ate Skittles and sipped on chugged Riesling. It was delish

Adult style Halloween.

Our pumpkin is bigger than our puppies.

I'm absolutely convinced that Lulu is a witch in a cat's body. But, we still love her.

It took about two doorbell rings before Pappy knocked gown the gate in the kitchen. So, we had to booby trap him by using the crate, a baby gate, and a dining room chair.

We gave in at certain points, and let them sleep at Matt's feet.

This is the only picture I could get of the whole family. Stalker kitty.

Ernie -- our first baby.

The kids trick or treating were SO FREAKING ADORB. And all of the parents welcomed us to the neighborhood. So sweet.

Carving our pumpkin:

I can't wait to roast these babies. Mmmmmmm....

Pappy and Wally enjoying their dog bone from Edward's Apple Orchard. And a sneak peak of our new counter tops.

Look at those EARS!

They loved their pumpkin flavored bone

We watched Stephen King's It (my first time seeing it).

BOO!

Lulu and Ernie seemed unfazed by Pennywise.

Definitely the best Halloween to date. And I have a feeling they will only get better.

Happy Halloween, Everyone!
Bring on Thanksgiving Black Friday and Christmas!

Halloween Part 1

Last weekend, we headed to Janesville to try out another pumpkin patch. We are huge fans of the Pumpkin Patch in Poplar Grove but have wanted to find something more local. Schuster's Farm (out of Madison) left us disappointed last year and we were nervous to try a new place this year. But YOU GUYS. Skelly's was awesome!

Skelly's Farm Market (out of Janesville) was so fun and SO MUCH CLOSER for us. They had apple cider donuts and PUMPKIN donuts - and a corn maze, and a pumpkin cannon thingy, and a great selection of beautiful round pumpkins! IN FACT, ours ended up weighing in at a whopping 53 pounds!!!! YOWZA. Matt and I had a great time and we intend on going back every year now.

Matt's two pumpkins

After coming home from Skelly's - we took Pappy and Wally on a nice, long walk. They loved playing in the leaves. Afterwards, we sat in out backyard and enjoyed the nice weather. That was LAST weekend, when it was in the 70s.
NOW-- there is snow on the ground. Um...?

This morning, Pappy and Wally were introduced to the really, cold, white stuff on the ground. They liked eating it.

I can't wait to see them in two feet of snow. Its going to be so darling. And maybe its just me, but cuddle and nap time is always better when its cold outside.

Pappy is such a little shit.

Not only can he climb his crate (that's blocking him from going down the hallway), but he can also climb and knock down the baby gate (that's blocking him from going downstairs).
I've said it before. And I'll say it again.
 We.are.in.trouble.

And Wally follows Pappy. So, of course, Sweet, little Wallly participates in this naughty behavior, too.

Our granite counter tops are getting installed right MEOW!! YAY.

I'm surprised at how much my kitchen smells like a nail salon. You know when they use the drill to file your nails? ITS THAT SMELL. But the counter tops are beautiful! Originally, I called a plumber to get quotes for disconnecting and reconnecting the plumbing for the countertop installation. Um......  500 DOLLARS?!?!? AS IF.

Sounds like a Dad job to me. Pizza and Beer for him -- and a lovely evening visiting with my parents.

THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!

Its supposed to be below freezing tonight during Trick or Treating. Poor, little Wisconsin kids. Its also predicted that we will go through 10 bags of candy (due to the billion of kids that live in our neighborhood). I can only imagine how the pups will react to the constant door bell ringing.

Lulu approves of our vegan candy. All 12 bags.

Matt will be home around noon. (WE LOVE HALF DAY FRIDAYS!) Later on, we're going carve our 50 lb pumpkin, watch Halloween, make warm apple cider and whiskey cocktails, and eat all of the donuts and reserved Halloween candy. Can't wait!

More pictures and another post to come.

Happy Halloween!
