Christmas Plague

I've basically been in a coma for the past two days, and by that, I mean I don't remember a damn thing.

My brain has been filled with fog, and when I wasn't passed out on the couch in the basement, I was a walking zombie.

Matt has been just as sick and is the only reason our pets are still alive and fed. I've been useless.

In a desperate plea, I called my mom and asked her to come take her grandpups for the day so we could get some rest.... It was a no go.

So pretty much the dogs ate everything in sight (Chapstick, tv remote, garbage, etc.) and pooped and peed wherever they pleased. Just lovely, isn't it??? I seriously don't know how parents of humans do it without immediately calling a babysitter. I was about two more potty accidents away from calling Sharon, our dog sitter, and asking her to adopt them for the weekend.

Luckily, aside from eating everything and pooping it out immediately after, the dogs are pretty self sufficient. And gosh, they are so loving.

Yesterday, we had zero food in the house and around 6pm (after eating nothing all day) I decided to run to Piggly Wiggly for some soup and miscellaneous items. The trip, that would usually take about ten minutes to get there and back, was a complete shit show.

First of all, in my fog unconsciousness I ended up turning one turn too early for piggly wiggly which happened to be a one way exit for the bank. I was going the opposite direction. Oops.

After I got myself out of THAT pickle and finally made it to the store, I stood in the soup aisle staring at my options for about fifteen minutes. No joke. Mostly because I couldn't focus on anything else except the desire to be back laying on the couch and also, because I was terrified I'd buy some beef broth veggie soup and make us ten times more sick than we already were. Reading the ingredients wasn't an option because well, my brain hurt so bad I couldn't even read.

I ended up grabbing three different kinds of soups in hopes that ONE would be okay. I'd let Matt be the judge. He's a much better reader.

AFter grabbing some pasta, pet food, cough drops and Popsicles, I made my way to the checkout. I stood in the express line for about ten minutes (the store was packed!) before I realized I was in the express line and had way more than five items. Unwillingly, I moved then stood in line some more.

Its a damn miracle I made it home in one piece. We ate some soup. Wally joined.

Then went back downstairs with NyQuil in hand.

By no means am I feeling 100% today. But it's ALOT better.  Mostly my head just feels like it's 100 pounds from all the sinus pressure. BUT We have both showered. And the house is clean. Much more than I can say for the past three days.....

(This is exactly how our room looks right now. Except I'm sitting in between Pappy and Ernie). All four of them: Matt, Ernie, Pappy, and Wally are snoring. It's like they have a band! Lulu wants nothing to do with us, like always.

Christmas presents are still not wrapped and there werent any gift tag stickers at the store yesterday. Looks like I'll just write names in permanent marker on the wrapping paper. That is, If they ever get wrapped. At this rate, I'm handing them over in Piggly Wriggly plastic bags.

Tis the season??
