Well, we have made progress with the whole car ride thing. Pappy didn't poop OR throw up in the car this week, which is much more than we can say about the first time. They both still whined and drooled excessively but I will happily take that over cleaning up, well you know.
The crate and down blanket helped.
We were bad puppy parents and totally skipped classes on Saturday morning. Pappy and Wally were still on their bladder infection meds and peeing every twenty minutes (and quite frankly, I didn't want to get the stink eye from the instructor every time she handed us the paper towels and disinfectant) so we skipped it. Scheduled a make up for Monday night at six and went last night.
Which it all worked out beautifully because it was more socialization and more puppy friends!! There was everything from a tiny Lhasa poo named Bobby Boo to a Great Dane named Jax. The class was huge. Lots of good socialization. We worked on "sit for greeting" aka no jumping on people when they come to our house and "loose leash walking" aka no pulling while walking on a leash. The boys did surprisingly well and Wally was even used for demonstration. Of course, (like every other time) Wally put on the breaks and the instructor had to drag him (OPPOSITE of a dog pulling on the leash). The class thought it was cute. And Matt and I were just thrilled that he didn't embarrass us.
Another bonus! They only peed two times in one hour!! THAT IS PROGRESS! Pappy has finished his round of antibiotics. And Wally will be done on Saturday. Send your prayers for no more bladder infections!!!
Now, let's just hope this fifty dollar pheromone diffuser helps get the cats' pooping and peeing UNDER CONTROL !
Enjoy the pictures of puppy class::
Pappy can't decide whether he wants his ears to stand straight up or be floppy.
So he chooses both.
He is an awfully good watch dog though.
This morning, Pappy and Wally's foster mama (in North Carolina) tagged me in a post on facebook that titled "10 of the rarest dog breeds" saying that one of them looked like Wally, so i browsed....
You guys!! No shit. THIS IS WALLY'S BREED!! Austrailian Shepard....?
Nope!!
A catahoula leopard dog.
Doesn't it look JUST LIKE HIM?!!?
Our baby Wally
They're also called hog dogs. Which I just love because Wally is TOTALLY a piggy.
I had never heard of the breed before which makes me curious as to whether or not it's one of the 200 the DNA Test recognizes.....?
We will just have to wait and see. Can Christmas morning just get here already??!!??!
