Wrestle Mania

Well, the anesthesia has definitely worn off. These boys are fifty shades of CRAY and Matt and I are having a helluva time trying to keep them calm.

Lord help us. Needless to say, the cones are back on

All they want to do is play, wrestle, run, jump, and wrestle some more.

We already called the vet asking if they had any recommendations (hoping they would give us SEDATIVES) and, unfortunately, they told us to just "do our best"

Sigh.

The vet techs know the #fennelpuppies well, and also know they are an endless amount of energy. Luckily, they told us we just have to make it until Sunday and they should be healed up just fine. THREE MORE DAYS!!!

The place we got the boys neutered at (through the rescue) said we have to  keep them calm for a whopping two weeks. After talking to our normal vet they said (THANK GOD) that 4-5 days should be fine because keeping those boys calm for two weeks is quote:::

Next to impossible

We will try, nonetheless. In other news::

I've said this before and I'll probably say it five million more times

Wally is so damn smart. And WAY TOO smart for his own good.

Wally has officially learned how to take off his cone. OMFG.

The cone has snaps to keep it together....

Like so.

Well, Wally has now learned that if he places his nose to the ground, so that the cone is resting on the floor; and scoops his head with one swift motion --he can unsnap them one at a time.

On my god!

When I told Matt, he just laughed. Duct tape is our next option. To keep it shut. Not tie them down. But I have thought of that as well..... Kidding

More delimmas:

The mushrooms are back in the yard and Wally eats everything. We're terrified he will eat ANOTHER poisonous mushroom and we will have to rush him back to the ER. From what we heard, fertilizer does not help with these mushrooms and we just have to keep a "close eye on them"

So when we get a fence, what do we do? Go out with them each and every time??! WHAT IS THE POINT IF AN F'N FENCE??! We will still try the fertilizer.

Pappy is still struggling with the separation anxiety. Shocker, right? Which means he is peeing in his crate every time we leave the house or go to sleep. Nothing new. BUT now he has an incision that we have to make sure doesn't get infected. Pappy laying in PEE while in his crate is NOT IDEAL. A towel doesn't help because he just digs and moves it to the far back corner of the crate which makes it POINTLESS. Needless to say, we keep him out of the crate as much a possible. Taking personal time to stay home, sleeping with him on the couch, etc.

Easter is this Sunday. And I'm hosting. Which is wonderful and lovely and I'm truly very excited. But my nieces and nephew -who are very much little kids- will be joining us and the boys are going to want to jump and play all day long.  Only five days shy of getting surgery.

There is also the delimma that Wally likes to walk on the table. Erm.

Lastly, the cones do wonders for stopping the puppies from licking their own wounds, but they still lick each other's and like to help each other out whenever necessary.

Ay yi yi

Never a dull day in the Fennel household!!!!

Happy Easter everyone. The Easter bunny will be stopping by our house Sunday morning to treat our already very spoiled furbabies to a jammed packed Easter basket.

Watch that ham/table scraps intake for your pups. Trust me, we definitely will.
