Honey, we need a TWO fridges....

Matt and I recently received a Costco membership from my bosses at The Little Gym and I was so incredibly excited to get into the store to see what is was all about. Matt was a little skeptical (past Sam's Club member-- pfff) and thought it was going to be just like Sam's. Boy was he mistaken. He purchased a Sam's Club membership when we lived in Illinois just to save money on tires, but we never ended up shopping there on a normal basis. In fact, I only remember going there ONCE. Sam's Club was too "business" for me. And from what I heard, Costco focused more on families and home life. Exactly what we needed.

So after weeks of begging Matt to go shopping with me, he finally gave in last Saturday and we drove the 15 minutes to Middleton to check it out. I had fully prepared myself mentally knowing that 1) we would be in there for at least an hour 2) I didn't get paid until next Friday, so I had to be somewhat conservative 3) Matt was going to want to buy everything.

Within minutes, we were both in love and excited to walk the store. I grabbed every pamphlet they had on travel packages, flooring, window treatments, etc. while just standing in line to get our membership cards. We walked the aisles, snooped over the cameras, jewelery, TVs, and the liquor. Matt was happy with all of the selection on bourbon, scotch, and what not, so I knew I had him sold.

THEN -- we got to the FOOD!! Oh my god. I wanted everything. The organic food was so cheap! They had a great, inexpensive selection on fruits, veggies, sweets, bakery goods, seafood, and meats. I seriously could have bought one of everything and their frozen food section had me in heaven. But it was the taste testing that really reeled us in. .....yummy... (who needs to eat lunch when you go shopping at Costco?)

Typically, we shop at Woodmans, but this was even better. Definitely cheaper prices and SO MUCH NICER! They even had Cononut water (good for kidney stones if any of you didn't know -- and I've had 100s) We decided that at least once a month, Matt and I would go to Costco, taste the food, and stock up for the month. BUT WAIT--- where would we put all of it???

We're working with a normal refrigerator at our house and there was no way we'd be able to fit everything we wanted in that small space. We had discussed buying a deep chest freezer for our basement before and our trip to Costco confirmed that something needed to be done.

Ahhh ---- the luxury of being newlyweds...

When we bought our house (over a year ago), we both agreed that the old, white appliances had to go. And now that the wedding is over and we're not handing our paychecks over to the BIG DAY, we are able to make that happen! WOOOHOOO!!! Stainless steel in.... white out--- except for the fridge. That guy is going out the garage to store ALL of our COSTCO food!

We walked out only spending $50 dollars and with a new life plan!!! Once we have TWO fridges and we're able to purchase all the food to stock up for the month, we will make our trip back to Costco for the big shopping day. Of course, we will keep our convenient Piggly Wiggly supermarket for the bread, eggs, milk, etc. --- they have tiny shopping carts for kids... how can I not give them my business?!

Keep your eyes out for our pictures of the new appliances. So exciting!

Quote of the day??

"Oh, if they were Sean Jean sweatpants it would be no problem, but because they were Costco brand, it's the worst thing I could do."
