New Car! New Hair! So many changes!

Remember that post about our broke down cars.....?! Well guess what?!!

WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT ANYMORE!

On Saturday, Matt and I drove to Villa Park, Illinois to trade in his 2002 Toyota Camry and to buy a 2013 Chevy Sonic Turbo RS. We were so freaking excited and the only thing we had to worry about was whether or not his car would start when they went to test drive it.

Pfffff......

That should have been the least of our worries. To spare all of you the details, let me just say that they offered incredibly low for the trade in and raised the sticker price of the Sonic because we didn't qualify for some incentive. We sat in negotiations with our dealer, his manager, and some other guy until they eventually all went to the general manager.

It took hours.

And after a couple of hours, we were done and we were absolutely comfortable walking away without purchasing the car. We said, "Thanks, but no thanks" several times but they never let us leave! I specifically remember grabbing my purse at one point, standing up, zipping up my coat, and telling Matt, "I just want to go home."

I even asked the dealers for our keys back to the Camry (because they test drove it) And they said, "Um, hold on one second ma'am" then back to the General Manager's office they went to get a lower price.

His office looked that like banker's office from Deal or No Deal -- where you could see his silhouette but not his face. We seriously felt like we were on the game show and we kept saying, "No Deal!" fully prepared that we would not drive away with that car.

Somehow,

Someway,

We BOUGHT the car for a few thousand under asking price, an entire percent off of our financing, with practically zero down, and right on budget. For our first time negotiating, I'd say we were very successful. I may or may not have lost my cool at certain points and I think the dealers were scared of me/hated me, but we drove away with our first brand new car and we absolutely love it!

YAY!

I was able to snap some pictures of Matt coming home yesterday! Enjoy!

Onto the next change....

FIRST OF ALL,

I cannot believe all of you dear loved ones let me walk around looking like this...

Hi, my name is Medusa

I have wanted to chop my hair off for years. Literally. I specifically remember sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings one night with my two girlfriends, Carmy and Courtney (when I still lived in Rockford -- so it had to of been 2010) talking about cutting my hair. But of course, I had to wait until after I got married. Well that time has come and gone.

After telling Matt about my plans, he said, "My married friends warned me about this." Um, what!?  I asked. "After girls get married they get a mom haircut," he said.

Oh.My.God!

Don't get me wrong, he was fully supportive of the haircut and said, "You'll be beautiful no matter what." (<--- seriously?! what a sweetheart/kiss ass) but he also made it clear that he liked my hair long.

I scheduled my hair appointment on our one month anniversary. I had two weeks to prepare myself and Matt about the drastic change, and even with that, I was still nervous sitting in the chair. Prior to this, I would freak out about someone cutting off more than half an inch and I was about to let Carolina take off more than five inches.

Surprisingly, I did very well. No tears -- All smiles. Carolina actually had it originally longer and I told her to cut off more. I love my new haircut and I feel so much prettier/better! Its a chic haircut and it shows off my sassiness (What a Wisconsin word!!!)

I hope you enjoy my pictures of the new do. And I'm sorry for all of my selfies.

"MYSPACE!!!!"  I kept thinking as I took all of these pictures. Remember saying that seven years ago when posing for pictures?? Maybe that was just me and my crazy friends.

Note: I despise people who upload pictures of themselves like this on Facebook so I truly apologize. And I promise you I will never do this again until I have a baby bump to show off.

After the haircut, Matt and I went to my parents to say, "Hello!"

Then we went to Zander's birthday party, our nephew who turned ONE, on Saturday!

After that, we headed up to Villa Park to buy the car. Then we stopped at Portillo's (YUM!) to celebrate our car purchase.

The next day was Saint Patrick's Day. How did we celebrate you ask?

We went out to dinner, chatted about Life Insurance, and then went grocery shopping....

Oh, married life.

By the way, Matt loved my hair. Whew.............
